Bad Religion, you're not supposed to give me nightmares....

A couple nights ago, I had one of those dreams where you're sleeping and when you try to wake up and move, you can't. It has to be one of the most traumatizing dreams to have and it sucks.

Anyways, I was asleep in my bed facing the opposite wall to the bedroom door. My cat was laying right next to my head like she usually does and there was some music playing in the background, specifically Bad Religion. All of a sudden my cat jumped up off the bed, then went under the bed to hide. I then started to hear footsteps coming up the stairs towards my room and a man's voice singing over the Bad Religion.

At this point, I tried to wake up so I could get up and hide myself but my body wouldn't move. I was stuck facing the opposite way and could feel the man standing over my bed behind me. I finally managed to wake myself up in real life to find my cat sleeping peacefully in her usual spot but could not get back to sleep the rest of the night. Definitely was a little unnerving... to say the least.

Hello Mr. Security Guard

It all started out in Florida. I was driving around some town just before dark. As I went to turn on my headlights, something shorted out in the xTerra I was driving and my lights would not turn on. I stopped on the side of the road and realized I would need to replace both headlights with brand new ones. I guess I couldn't get the car to start back up without working headlights so I had to park it in some old abandoned condo garage. I started to walk down the road to try and find an auto shop and noticed a security guard a little ways off in the distance. He noticed me walking alone and started towards me. When he finally caught up with me, he asked me what I was doing out by myself in this neighborhood (apparently it wasn't the best place to be by yourself, especially being a woman and all). I told him about my situation and he told me he would walk with me and help me find somewhere to replace the lights. This security guard just so happened to be the INCREDIBLY GORGEOUS lifeguard I saw the other day at Barton Springs Pool. :swoon:

Daydreams.................

Ok, back to the dream. We started walking down the road and came up to an AutoZone. Went inside and they did not have the lights I needed so we kept wandering on down the road. The sexy security guard and I must have gone to at least five different stores until he told me to take a seat and he would find the lights for me (I was exhausted at this point and we just so happened to be by a hotel so I went inside and sat at the bar while I waited for him to come back). What seemed like 45 minutes or so, he came back through the door with two headlights and we started back to where I parked. For some reason, the both of us got completed turned around and could not find the garage. After what seemed like a few hours, we finally found my car and replaced the headlights.

The scene then changed and the security guard and I were flying over Florida in a small airplane. I guess he had his pilots license and his own airplane?? I told him I would need to head back to Austin, TX soon so he started to take the plane down to land. He ended up landing it BACKWARDS and in this huge hanger. It was really awkward haha. I ended up moving down to Florida, but only stayed for two weeks because I absolutely hated it and decided to head back to Austin.

The scene then changed again and I was performing in a carnival. I had this really cool LED hoop that would change with the music along with a regular large hoop. After the show, I was standing on the side of the stage talking with DJ Mercedes (she's a DJ who lives in LA I randomly met at the Big 4 Concert in Palm Springs last month). The security guard had told me he wanted to come up to Austin so DJ Mercedes and I were trying to convince him to go for it. He kept saying how nervous he was so I told him I would protect him. LMAO.... Silly Noelle.

Anyways, I woke up after that. Poop.

Driver, I have to go!!

There were four of us traveling across the
United States (I think) in a large white van. We (using nicknames here); Twitch, Dot, Laser, the driver and myself, kept driving through the middle of no where. It was strange because we kept coming up on these REALLY nice housing developments in the middle of the desert. I remember being incredibly confused since there was absolutely nothing out there except these houses. Not a single store, bank, gas station... nothing... just desert and cacti.

Twitch and Dot were discussing how sick Twitch would get if she smoked too much marijuana and I was trying to convince the driver to pull over because I had to use the restroom. He would "accidentally" miss each exit for a rest stop and refused to pull over to the side of the road to let me relieve myself. WTF

Laser sat in the back of the van laughing uncontrollably the whole time while making snide comments at Twitch and myself for being girls and complaining about our current situation. HE WOULD.

Flying High in the Sky

The dream started out in some kind of military college camp out in the middle of no where. For some reason I was being punished so they had me strapped to this large table in the middle of this huge house. I was by myself for what seemed like forever and could see other people outside doing military drills (running, going through obstacle courses, etc). I remember feeling incredibly lonely at first, but then this man came into the house and released me from the table. He was apparently my other half and we were deeply in love. As soon as he released me from the table, I wrapped myself in his arms and didn't let go for what seemed like days.

The scene changed and I was sitting there looking incredibly grief stricken and lost. Someone had kidnapped my love and I was determined to find him. Luckily, my subconscious gave me the ability to fly (yessssss). I flew all over the world looking for this man, from Alaska down to the Caribbean with absolutely no luck. At one point, I was so high in the sky I could see the whole world under me. I was pointing out to whoever I was flying with that I had been up to Alaska and all the way down to the Caribbean.

Unfortunately, I never did find the man I loved.

Once Again, Around the Bend

I was in some kind of video world going around counter-clockwise on an oval track. Every time I would make it around a certain point, the scenery around the track would change. One moment I would be surrounded by a vast green forest, the next a rainforest and waterfalls, so on and so forth.

As I was going around this neverending track, two foreigners (I couldn't place where they were from) along with another aquaintance I know in my waking life kept aggravating me. I remember standing there, going around this oval track and bitching at them, in turn causing a huge scene. Eventually, a cop came out of no where and put me under arrest. Instead of taking me to jail like a normal cop, he placed me in this cell that ventured around the track with everyone else. I was in front of the crowd so everyone could see me.

Ellie Goulding, who just so happens to be one of my favorite artists who I missed at SXSW this year, was supposed to play a show. She ended up setting up shop right in front of my cell and began to sing. I remember finally starting to feel a sense of calm and tranquility as soon as I heard the music. The cop realized this and decided to let me out so I could continue to enjoy Ellie's music as she continued with her show.

The two foreign guys who were harrasing me earlier in the dream came up behind me. One of them threw up all over me while the other began to try and throw me off the edge of the track, which would have killed me since the track seemed to be high in the sky with nothing but darkness beneath. I felt incredibly frightened in this moment and sat there screaming and fighting for my life until I woke up in a cold sweat.

It took me a long time to fall back asleep after waking up from this dream... This is the second dream in a row people have attacked me... What does it all mean?

Scribbled Emotions

I ran into my ex-boyfriend Nick while I was out walking around in my dream (I can't remember where I was when I saw him) and decided I would try and make things right since him and I didn't exactly have a friendly breakup. He wanted to sit down and video tape us while we discussed what had happened and told me he eventually wanted to make a video on violence in relationships. All I could do was laugh since him and I really didn't have a physically violent relationship and I wasn't really sure what he was trying to imply.... however, I suppose I could describe the mental anguish both of us suffered as being violent in some form or another (especially since it obviously still torments me to a point).

Nick ended up getting offended and left... He showed up at my house later on with his new girlfriend, who happened to be my buddy Eric's best friend in Omaha, NE, and another guy who I've never seen before. Long story short, this girl has issues with other women, she's overly protective and really doesn't give a shit about anyone or anything. She started talking a bunch of nonsense to me to start drama so I told them to get the hell out of my house. Once outside I locked them out and the girl continued to yell and scream obsenities at me so I threw a glass full of cranberry juice at her head. Of course the girl got pissed and they started to break into my house.

I called the cops just as they broke through the door. I was able to mace the two men before the girl pushed me into a closet and started to beat the hell out of me. I was still on the phone with the police so they could hear all of the commotion go on as it occured. The girl finally got off of me and the three started to run just as the cops showed up to arrest them.

The last thing I remember was watching a TV crew set up camp to do a news report as I collapsed on my living room floor balling my eyes out as the choas of the police surrounded me.

A War With No Sides

I was unfortunately, lucky enough to be caught in the middle of a war with no meaning in the dream I had last night. I wasn't sure if I was fighting for the right side, whether there was a right side or not, and I couldn't figure out just what we were fighting for. There is only one scene I remember and it reminded me of a sick morbid game, kind of like one of those life and death games off the SAW movies.

There were about five of us "soldiers" standing around an old abandoned car. One of our soldiers had been shoved inside the car door, where the window rolls up and down into. Obviously, it was an impossible situation as no living person could really fit into a car door without being cut up into a million different pieces. We were given rules on how we could get him out of the door. They were simple and short: Move him or the door the wrong way and he dies.

Oh great, so how the hell do we even start? Another soldier and myself decided we would risk everything and try to get our comrade out of the door... We got him about halfway out before my stupid alarm clock who destroys every good thing about sleep woke me up.

Let go Tucson!!

Last night's dream began down in Tucson, Arizona... For those who don't know where it is, it's about an hour and a half South of Phoenix, Arizona. I had gone down there for some random party at a friends house. Sunday finally arrived and I had planned on wandering home sometime in the early afternoon. Unfortunately, every time I tried to hop in the car and head back, someone would prevent me from driving off... Either because I had forgotten something or they needed me to bring an item back to Phoenix for them. I remember being incredibly aggravated since I wanted to be gone already but continued to be stalled and finally acquired another passenger. It was actually a friend of mine from Dallas and she seemed to be the only person in the dream that wasn't irritating the hell out of me. I was moody none the less and apologized to her for my short temper. There was this guy in the dream who would continuously give me orders trying to boss my around. I wasn't surprised to see him as a form of authority given our past in real life. Long story short, him and I do not see eye to eye whatsoever and tend to avoid one another when we find ourselves in the same vicinity. Blah he makes me mad. lol

I was supposed to drop all of this stuff at some lake about 45 minutes North of Phoenix so not only was I aggravated I was late on heading out, but I had to drive an additional 45 minutes to empty the contents of my bright yellow car. Finally, after what seemed like another "hour" in my dream, I was ready to head out with a car full of random clothes, a good friend and my old roommates cat (WTF?).

I was having a bit of trouble sleeping so I woke up right as we took off from Tucson... I wonder what I would have found at the lake!

Dream within a Dream - A Waking Life Moment

Have you ever seen the movie, Waking Life? It's basically about a young man who continues waking up in a dream within a dream gaining lessons about the universe and life itself. It's actually incredibly well written and informative so if you haven't seen it... I recommend checking it out!

Anyways, the dream I had last night was a direct copy of what was going on during the movie. I kept waking up in a dream within a dream. I would wander around endlessly trying to figure out the point of it all by talking to any random person I came in contact with but all I got in return was a philosophical outlook on life. I would ask questions, how, why, what's all this about?? Never getting a straight answer in return. This went on throughout the entire dream until my alarm clock went off this morning.

Unfortunately, I do not remember any specific vocabulary so it's difficult for me to gauge what it all means. There weren't any apparent symbols or words that stood out. Boo.

Chased by a Pterodactyl

Say what?? Yup... you know, those crazy huge flying reptiles who reigned over the skies millions of years ago? If you have never had the chance to get up close and personal with the skeleton of a pterodactyl, I would highly recommend finding a museum or a place with one on display. They're incredibly impressive and I can't even imagine standing next to one when they were alive. HUUUUUGGGGEEEE

Anyways... on to my dream!

An old friend of mine, Whitney and I, decided to go hiking deep within these beautiful woods one early afternoon. During our wanderings we came upon a huge skeleton of an ancient pterodactyl. After examining the large flying reptile for a few moments we decided to head off in another direction. As we were walking away, the skeleton came to life and began towards us. Of course we ran like hell and came upon a giant quad in the middle of the woods. Perfecto! With the pterodactyl close on our heels we hopped on the quad and went for it. I was driving with Whitney on the back keeping tabs on where the skeleton was. We finally made it back into town and found shelter in a large warehouse.

The scene changed and I found myself in the middle of a wedding reception area. I recognized the only other man there as a direct competitor of the catering business Whitney and I ran (in the dream of course). I felt an incredibly negative vibe coming off of him and decided to figure out what was going on so I asked him. He was surprised to see me alive and said I was lucky to have survived the "wrath of his power" (lolz) and went on to tell me how he was trying to make Whitney and I disappear so he could take over all of our business. Unfortunately, or fortunately, my alarm went off after this.

The second part of the dream doesn't make any sense to me but the whole being chased by a big ass hungry dinosaur does relate to my waking life in some form or another. Being chased by a dinosaur stems from a fearfulness of being useless or no longer needed which pretty much hit's the nail right on the head. I've been feeling this way for a couple of weeks now. I don't think I am going to go into detail here just because I may get myself into a little trouble if I dig into it so I'll leave it at that.

Slower Traffic, Keep Right

I have noticed an interesting trend in the dreams I've had recently. I've been incredibly lethargic, slow moving and sometimes asleep during certain parts of dreams. This got me thinking; what does this mean since the majority of scenes in these dreams do not make sense what so ever. Everything is so abstract and forever changing, pushing me to focus on how I actually FEEL during these dreams rather than whats going on around me.

So what does this sluggish tendency I have been having actually mean??

According to dreammoods.com and a few various other sources (friends, own knowledge, random dream books I have)... there are several things to think about. To make this easier, I will tear it down into specific instances within a dream and what I was feeling at that time.

1) My older sister, two others and myself were on our way to some tackle shop/liquor store (weird combo I know). They were constantly having to slow down and even stop to wait up for me. I kept feeling incredibly exhausted and could barely keep up with them. All I wanted to do was sleep and no matter how hard I tried, I just couldn't get my body to move any quicker. If you feel tired in your dream, it is supposed to suggest how I really feel in my waking life; emotionally drained and stressed.

2) My co-worker was getting married at my mothers house. I fell asleep before the ceremony began and accidentally slept through the whole thing. Upon waking up in my dream, I still felt sleepy and had a hard time moving around, almost like I was moving in slow motion. Several emotions stem from this as I was ASLEEP in my dream, SLEEPY and MOVING IN SLOW MOTION.

To dream you are sleeping can suggest a peace of mind but it could also mean I am ignorant of the conditions around me, which I was in the dream, but what of my waking life? This also goes along with death; pushing for renewal and/or a new beginning. The sleepiness in my dream is telling me I am letting an opportunity pass me by but I could be missing some important information I need in order to make a decision. Last but not least, to dream I am moving in slow motion implies I have a feeling of anxiousness, powerless or frustration. I may be going through some tough issues that are causing stress, giving me a feeling of immobilization.

Now that I've laid it out... I have a better understanding of what my dreams are actually trying to tell me. I've been thinking about making a life-changing decision the last couple of months on whether I should join the military or not. Weighing the pros and cons, talking to those in the military or have been before, benefits and what I need to do in order to be ready for this... Aaaand I just don't think I am ready to make the decision right now, which in turn is causing me a bit of frustration since I'm technically running out of time (more on this later). Luckily, I have another six months or so before I really need to make up my mind sooooo hopefully learning my stress because of this is causing me to dream this nonsense, I will be a little more aware of my feelings on the situation.

Mischevious Flying Men!

The dream I had last night was in third person so I was just sitting back watching all of this happen instead of being involved in any of it.

There were two men with these GORGEOUS black feathered wings, just like those in the movie Legion (I watched the movie last night, so of course something from the movie showed up in my dream, I am just glad it didn't turn into an Apocalypse nightmare!). I cannot remember what the people in the dream called these two men but I know they were annoyed by them since one of the guys loved to mess with large celebrations going on. If there was a parade or some large concert, the two guys would group up and do whatever they could to disrupt the performance just for laughs.

After messing with the wrong person, the two flying men were captured and sent far out to sea where they were supposed to meet their deaths by being eaten by two very large great white sharks. They were standing on some kind of floating dock that looked similar to the letter "c". The sharks began to jump out of the water trying to eat each of the men. The two flying men jumped in the water, grabbed the dock and started swimming incredibly fast in a circle. The sharks continued to try and grab the men but were unable. All of the sudden, the two men were shot into the sky high enough where their wings were given enough time to dry off.

They immediately began the long trek back into land where a large ticker tape parade was going on for the man who sent the two flying devils out to sea to die. The two men disappeared behind a large curtain to plan how they were going to disrupt this celebration when the damn alarm clock went off...

Why must it always go off right before the good parts?? Ugh.

I'm not even sure what to call this one...

Last Wednesday I underwent a tonsillectomy in order to remove a deadly abscess that had been growing on my left tonsil. Because of this, I was given pain medication which in turn has caused me to have the most incredible, yet awkward dreams. Unfortunately, I can only remember this one but I promise to post new ones as I remember them. Not quite sure why this one stands out more than the others I've had but maybe it could mean its' meaning might be a little more important to my waking life?? Who knows, but anyways, I'll quit boring you with my jabbering and get on with the dream.

The first scene started on a beautiful beach, possibly somewhere in California (it looked like some high class LA beach)?? There was a group of us standing near the water line watching two whales jumping in and out of the water. These whales in particular looked like a mixture between a swordfish and a dolphin but they were most definitely whales as the people surrounding me where calling them such. Unfortunately, I cannot remember the particular name they were using. Anyways, the whales got dangerously close to the shore and ended up beaching themselves during one of their high jumps out of the water. A group of us decided we needed to try and get them back into the water and worked for a long time trying to push them back to sea. Finally we were successful and watched the whales swim far back out to sea... apparently learning their lesson jumping out so close to the beach.

I believe I was still on the beach for the next part of the dream, but I can't remember exactly. There were these three gorgeously handsome men trying to get me to go out on dates with them. Of course, each and every single one of them was way jealous of the other two and would try and do things to piss off the others such as trying to kiss me, grab my hand or some other form of affection in front of them. One of them was David Boreanaz, except he was even BETTER looking than he is now. One of the others was another famous person, but I cannot remember for the life of me who it was, possibly Jude Law?? The third guy was just some incredibly handsome man I have never seen before (but in reality apparently I have since characters in dreams are supposedly composed of people who have seen in real life, even people you are crossing in the street).

I couldn't make up my mind so I decided to go on a couple of dates with all of them to try and get a sense of who I believed would make a great companion. One day while wandering around the town by myself, a jealous woman came out of no where and attacked me. Apparently she didn't want me near any of these men. I'm not quite sure who she was or why she decided it would be a good idea to beat me up in the middle of the street but she did and I determined I would not let her get away with her unwarranted violence.

I felt like I was in a movie watching this happen for the remainder of the dream (everything in the beginning was first person experience). I saw myself diving into a river that eventually led into the center of town where a large colleseum stood. Some large show was going on as there were a ton of people crowding outside to get in. After I got out of the river, I was immediately dry and wearing a really nice outfit. I stood near the entrance and started to sing, I guess trying to make enough money to make it into the show. I knew the girl was in there and I knew this would be my only chance to gain revenge on her. But of course, before anything else happened my alarm clock went off. FAIL

An interesting detail about this dream were the outfits. I felt like I was in some early 90's drama flick. hah!
